Primary Care Flight Paramedics
Permanent Full-time Opportunity
SkyCare is recruiting motivated, adaptable, and eager-to-learn Primary Care Flight Paramedics to join our Air Ambulance as a Full-Time Rotational Paramedic. If you are looking to expand into the aeromedical field and advance in your career as a Primary Care Paramedic, SkyCare is the right place for you.
About SkyCare:
SkyCare provides Air Ambulance services to the Province of Ontario through a Standing Offer Agreement managed by ORNGE. Our Paramedics are certified and work under ORNGE's Base Hospital, an industry leader in Transport Medicine. We provide our Air Ambulance services across three bases in Ontario: Kitchener, Thunder Bay and Sioux Lookout.
SkyCare utilizes two different aircraft to accommodate the diverse needs of its patients. Our Metro aircraft are among the largest and most capable Air Ambulance platforms in the provincial system, providing bariatric and true team transport capabilities. We also utilize a Westwind Jet with best-in-class range, enabling nonstop transcontinental flights and making it an excellent tool for long-haul transfers.
Apart from ORNGE, SkyCare is the only Ontario-based air ambulance service currently providing the Advanced Care Flight Paramedics [ACP(f)] level of care, and we are one of the few flight services in Ontario to provide the Intermediate Care Nurse position (ICN). Both the ACP (F) and ICN work out of Kitchener and Thunder Bay, which you will rotate through. Having these different levels of care will provide you with the opportunity to work with various levels of care and allied health professionals, allowing you to grow and work alongside them to gain invaluable experience.
In addition to SkyCare's various levels of care, we also specialize in different team transports, including NICU, ECMO, and others, as they become available for air transport.
SkyCare offers private repatriation, allowing patients to be transported home from domestic destinations or international destinations in North America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Our Ground Transportation service in Kitchener complements this and can be used for non-urgent calls.
Why Work at SkyCare:
The combination of non-emergent and emergent inter-facility hospital transfers allows for a diverse workday. We also work with remote Northern patients and help transfer them to an acute care facility, allowing them to receive the care they need, while enabling you to visit every corner of our great province. During your duties, you will have the opportunity to interact with nearly every land-based emergency service in the province, and the relationships you will make during your time at SkyCare will be invaluable.
If you are interested in working in a dynamic, on-call environment, apply now and join us for an exciting career. SkyCare will enable you to learn from knowledgeable colleagues and gain firsthand insight into the Ontario Air Ambulance industry.
