Job Summary & Responsibilities:
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the maintenance, repair, modification, overhaul, and alteration of SkyCare’s aircraft. All maintenance activities must comply with policies, procedures, and instructions contained in the Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), and Transport Canada regulations. AMEs report to the Base Engineer and ultimately to the Director of Maintenance. The position follows a modified work schedule of one week on, one week off.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  •  Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical issues in accordance with approved procedures and manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations and SkyCare's maintenance policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including logbook entries and task cards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure aircraft safety, performance, and airworthiness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs to stay current with industry standards and technologies.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of tools and equipment inventories.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and practices in the hangar and on the ramp.
  • Participate in pre-flight and post-flight inspections as required.
 
Qualifications:
  • Valid Transport Canada issued AME M1 license required; M2 rating is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience with Aircraft Maintenance Systems (AMS) is an asset.
  • Previous experience with Navajo Chieftain, Metro/Merlin and Westwind 1124A aircraft an asset.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and excellent trouble shooting skills.
  • A strong commitment to Safety & Compliance.
  • Motivated and self-directed with a desire to contribute to SkyCare’s success.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.

Compensation

$40.10 - $49.35 per hour
